Halcyon
Amara Fragrances Halcyon — Marine Woody Eau de Parfum
A fresh, sea-breeze scent that opens bright and settles warm — the easiest of the Amara range to wear in Dubai heat.
Why we chose it: Amara is a niche fragrance house with a base in Dubai, and its six Eaux de Parfum were developed with one of the oldest perfume houses in Grasse, France, established in 1779. Of the six, Halcyon is the one built for heat: its marine top sits on a warm base of ambergris, vanilla and cedarwood, so it still has something to say as it dries down.
What it does: It opens with pink pepper, bergamot, cardamom and incense. The heart moves into cypress, marine notes and clary sage, like salty air through a coastal forest. It settles on solar notes, ambergris, vanilla and cedarwood.
Texture & Finish: Airy and fresh at first, then a soft, warm skin scent. Spray 2–4 times from 10–15 cm and let it dry without rubbing.
Best For: Daytime, warm weather and anyone who likes clean, fresh scents with a little depth. If you prefer something sweet and rich, Ambrosia Royale will suit you better.
Worth Knowing: This is an Eau de Parfum, but how long any fragrance lasts depends on your skin and the heat. On long summer days, expect to reapply. Amara's formulas use common fragrance components such as linalool and coumarin, so patch test first if your skin is very reactive. Avoid irritated skin and eyes, and store it away from heat and direct sun, which means not in the car or a steamy bathroom.
